George Branham is a former professional bowler from the United States. He was born on November 23, 1962, in Detroit, Michigan. Branham began his professional career in 1984 and became a member of the Professional Bowlers Association (PBA) Tour in 1986. He won his first PBA title in 1993 at the Tums Classic in Windsor Locks, Connecticut.
Branham is best known for winning the 1994 PBA Tournament of Champions, which is one of the most prestigious bowling events in the world. He defeated Parker Bohn III in the final match to win the title and the $65,000 prize money. Branham became the first African-American bowler to win the Tournament of Champions.
In addition to his PBA success, Branham was also a member of Team USA and represented his country in international competitions. He retired from professional bowling in 2015 but remains involved in the sport as a coach and instructor.
